The Migration
The following photographs are a testament to the perilous annual migration of wildebeest, zebra and other species from the dry depleted grass plains of the Tanzanian Serengeti, across the Mara river to the seasonally rich grasslands of Kenya. The pursuit of life sustaining grass is never ending. When the rains return to Tanzania and fresh grass becomes abundant once again, most will abandon the Kenyan plains and attempt the return journey across the dangerously croc infested Mara to the origin of the mass migration, the Tanzanian grasslands. A journey no less perilous. Truly, one of natures most remarkable events.
I consider it a distinct privilege to have witnessed this grand phenomenon many times throughout my travels to this magical place called Africa.
